Friends here and far

Sometimes I wonder if I come off as a people-hater or something. The truth is far from that. I love people. meeting new people is one of the things I enjoy. And I make sure people know I care about them.
On that note, those people I care about include famous people, the `screwed-up` ones and the ones who 'have their feet on the ground'. In truth I do enjoy listening to some of the music of Miley Cyrus, Brittany Spears, Hilary Duff, yes even some of the music of the Backstreet Boys. The point is though, that I will not condone the things that certain famous people are doing. I love some of Miley's songs, but I will not listen to or watch Can't Be Tamed or the video for Party in the USA. I just don't think their behavior is appropriate.
But I still love her. If something happened and she had no one in the world, or at least very few people in the world to turn to, I believe I would be there. I believe even if I saw the world's most horrible man that I would put myself in harm's way to save them from danger. That's what the love of Jesus does. That's what a good friend does, and I believe I both have the Love of Jesus and that I am a good friend.
But a good friend will not sit back and allow another special friend to behave a certain way without calling them on it. But these things have to be done kindly. Unfortunately, our media world is not so kind to Lindsay Lohan, Winona Ryder, Brittany Spears, Michael Jackson, and so many others.
That is why I appear so 'obsessed' with the goings-on in Hollywood. It is because their famous they need our love and support, and the confidence that if they do mess-up, we have got their back, and we will call them on it in love. Young women facing stardom need to know that the world will love them just as much and possibly even more if they act modestly and preserve their innocence and even their virginity in some cases.
Stand up and be a friend, we all need one!

Job 6:14 A despairing man should have the devotion of his friends, even though he forsakes the fear of the Almighty.

Proverbs 17:17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

Ecclesiastes 4:20 If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!

Luke 5:20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said, "friend, your sins are forgiven."

John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

2 Peter 3:14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.

1 John 4:11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

3 John 1:5 Dear friend, you are faithful in what you are doing for the brothers, even though they are strangers to your.
