The Door Opened

On a rainy day on the earth, a little girl died and God took her up to Heaven with him. Heaven was the most wonderful thing ever, because God was there. Everywhere she went she could hear and see him, and smell him. That cleansing, pure, indescribable aroma. She followed her heavenly father everywhere, dining with him in his banquet hall, running with him through fields filled with every flower imaginable. And he showed her amazing things.
He showed her deep secrets that only those in Heaven could ever see; she saw how God created the earth, and he showed her how he formed and planned every child and offspring on the earth. He carried her with him over the mountains of the earth and swam with her in the deepest lakes and oceans, where no man has ever gone. One day she followed him to a part of Heaven she had never been yet before.
God took her in his arms and showed her another secret, that only those in Heaven knew about. There was a door in the middle of a field, an old door. It had signs of much use, as though someone came and went from it very often. But on the door hung a beautiful golden padlock. The little girl asked God,"may I go in Daddy?" Her eyes gazing into his beautiful, joyous face.
He looked down at her, his own eyes shining, "not yet my child, but you may peek through the lock." he laughed, his rumbling, powerful, wonderful laugh. So she looked, and she was filled with joy unimaginable.
"What is it Daddy? Tell me!" she cried excitedly.
God grinned, "it's a surprise." he winked at her.
"When may I go in, Daddy?" she jumped up and down in anticipation, "I love surprises!"
"I know you do," God answered, "When all the others get here, you may go in."
The little girl looked up at him again, "when will that be, Daddy?" God took her delicate little hand in his huge, strong one.
"Soon," he whispered in her ear, "very soon."
The little girl grinned, "I'll be good, and patient." she whispered back.
So God continued to show her and teach her new and amazing things, and every day the little girl would look up and ask him, "today can I go in the door?"
And God would look down, touch her nose with his finger and laugh,"Not today, but soon." And she was always satisfied.
One day, The little girl was playing hide-and-seek with God, hide-and-seek was his favorite game, and hers too, when suddenly God rushed to her, lifted her up and shouted,"It's time!" And ran with her in his arms down to his palace, where all the people were gathered. God's son was sitting on a huge white horse, waiting for his father's instructions. The little girl heard someone singing: "Holy holy holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!" God embraced his only son, and then Jesus galloped down to the Earth to bring back all those who still waited for him. As soon as he was gone an angel began passing palm branches out to everyone, and they and all the angels started singing. The little girl too began to sing the words: "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb."
They all waved their palm branches and worshipped God, and danced. And God danced with them, all had smiles on their faces and tears of joy glistening in their eyes. Suddenly, a trumpet sounded, and God shouted, "Come! To the door!" And all of them raced with God to the secret place, where none but God had gone before. The little girl looked up at God and said, "Daddy, will I go in today?" God picked her up and lifted her high above his head, but she wasn't scared. He swung her around and embraced her and whispered, "yes." and there were tears in his eyes. When they reached the door, Jesus met them, with a huge multitude of people, from every country, nation, language and culture. And they were all still singing, "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb." Jesus then reached into his robe and drew from within, a key. God's son dismounted and walked to the door. He turned the key in the lock, and there was such a loud click that could be heard all over heaven and earth.

Then the door opened.
